Newt Gingrich in New York

I was thrilled to be able to see Fmr. Speaker Newt Gingrich and his co-author, William R. Forstchen at the Book Revue in Huntington, NY last Tuesday talking about their new book in the WWII series, Days of Infamy. It was an amazing experience listening to Mr. Forstchen talking about his collaboration with Newt and their methods of research. He told stories in bone-chilling detail about (their research for the previous book, Pearl Harbor) going deep into the hull of a capsized ship from WWII and how the sailors' bones were found years later... and how being a pilot and flying some of the actual WWII planes, and walking the Civil War battlefields, helped him to be the great historian he is today.

It was really interesting to hear both he and Newt describe how they're able to get together and write these series of books, logistically as well as the meeting of minds. Newt's extensive experience working with world leaders, coupled with Mr. Forstchen's expertise in military history makes this a winning match and there are many more books to come - they make us want to learn more about American history!

But the eye-opening part of the evening was hearing Newt Gingrich speaking about a nuclear holocaust and how desperately we need to rebuild our sorely lacking Homeland Security Dept. It was frightening to hear what he had to say about the very real possibility of another strike on America. I asked him, "What do you attribute to the fact that we haven't been hit since 9/11?" to which he replied, candidly, "I don't know," and then went on to explain how unprotected we really are. But he did say, all the mistakes of the G.W. Bush Administration aside, a very different history will be written about this man many years from now, which is something I've always believed.

Newt is about
solutions and though I believe he'd make a great president, I think he certainly is effective as a private citizen. He's a real national treasure. Here's a cute YouTube video Newt made.

Speaking of the threat of terrorism on American soil, I'm presently reading an amazing book by my friend,
Brigitte Gabriel. Every American needs to read this book! Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America is the true story of how she survived Islamic hatred and attacks growing up in Lebanon and is now on a passionate crusade in her adoptive country, America, to warn us all that the same thing could happen to us if we don't wake up to the reality of the very real threat living amongst us all. More on this later...

Newt Gingrich is fear mongering neocon AIPAC bootlicker, who is, as are the rest of his neocon patsies, using terror as a ploy to try to restrict freedom of speech and futher shred that "goddamn piece of paper" that is our constitution. NEWT GINGRICH, FORMER HOUSE SPEAKER: "My view is that either before we lose a city, or if we are truly stupid after we lose a city, we will adopt rules of engagement that we use every technology we can find to break up their capacity to use the Internet, to break up their capacity to use free speech, and to go after people who want to kill us, to stop them from recruiting people before they get to reach out and convince young people to destroy their lives while destroying us." 2006 at the Nackey S. Loeb First Amendment Award Dinner in Manchester, New Hampshire. As if Americans are complete idiots who would just listen to whatever they hear or read and become engaged (oh, wait...)

Unfortnunately, Newt defines anyone who doesn't agree with lil' Bush as a terrorist, as does the Bush administration as evidenced by the "Patriot Act" which should be the MOST TERRIFYING issue to any American Patriot who has actually read it. Not to mention the "Homegrown Terrorist Prevention Act". Not to mention the HUGE contracts given to companies like KBR and Blackwater, and others, who have already been shown to be incompentent and taking the taxpayers money to build MORE prisons in a country that already incarcerates more people than any other country in the world - for WHAT?

If we stop starting wars all over the world, particularly wars we obviously can't afford, and which are against an invisible enemy and which have NO END IN SIGHT - and causing problems with our "covert operations" and misleading the sheeple public via what has become our "state sponsored media", we won't have anything to worry about. If it were up to the Newt, I would be jailed and waterboarded for even posting this response.

If there even IS an Osama Bin Laden, you know the one: "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02 ...
the one, who supposedly incited the attacks on the World Trade Center that killed over 3000 Americans, the very fable of him HAS destroyed this country, financially, as we have been spending incredible amounts of money on the "war on terror". http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar_home AND losing our freedoms right and left in response to it.

Newt and the rest of his NeoCons buddies are a much bigger threat to this country than any "nucular" threat from any other country. We could be doing so much more good by spending money educating children to be free thinking, productive adults, repairing our own infrastructures and actually creating things that other people want - you know, like to export, to quell the humongous trade deficit. I don't care what ANY of these people have to say. They remind me of the Pigs in Orwell's Animal Farm - and I am so tired of hearing their squealing threats and fear mongering tactics.

To really get an idea of what is going on - I suggest that every one read Naomi Wolf's - The End of America - Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot.

Also remember, no matter who said it, it is true - "those who readily give up their security for freedom deserve neither".
